This feminist philosophy bases ethics on caring relationships with family, friends, loved ones, fellow citizens, or professional relationships. The ethics of care sees these relations in turn as based on caring, sympathy, empathy, or compassion, and pays special attention to individual contexts. Buddhist and Jain ethics are also based on compassion.
