Refutation of claiming that animals are not harmed because they cannot use language:
- Humans feel pain and suffering whether they choose to attach words to their experiences or not. The same can be said of other animals. It might be added that nonhuman animals have a wealth of ways of communicating that they are being harmed without using human-like vocalizations.
