Refutation of claiming that animals are not avoidably harmed in rodeos:

  • Cows are the common rodeo victim, as are horses. These animals do not buck unless they are tormented, and a standard technique is to use a "bucking strap," a belt with spikes that digs painfully into the animal's sensitive underside, causing bucking. The animals are toppled, dragged and otherwise roughly handled for human amusement, and ultimately, they face the horrors of factory farming and the slaughterhouse at the end of their journies through life.
